Book 2 - The Hobo

A notable man called the hobo is in the railyard. "A hobo sits on the ground." The description of the hobo is "Dressed in tattered rags[if the hobo wears the stovepipe hat] and a stovepipe hat with the top ripped open[end if], the hobo looks gaunt and emaciated. His grizzled beard and sunken eyes suggest that he's fallen on hard times (well, that and the fact that he's a hobo)." The ponderance of the hobo is "The poor man (literally). It's probably been days since his last meal."

Instead of attacking the hobo:

remove the hobo from play;

decrease STM capacity by 3;

the curse wears off in 20 turns from now;

say "You knock the hobo the rest of the way to the ground. His frailness (due to malnutrition) prevents him from putting up much of a fight. As you point and laugh, he looks back at you and mumbles some strange syllables before clambering out of sight into the maze of train cars.";

record "being a dick" as achieved;

The tattered rags are clothing worn by the hobo. The description of the tattered rags is "They sure are tattered." The stovepipe hat is a hat worn by the hobo. The description of the stovepipe hat is "Like the hat Abraham Lincoln wore, but filthier."

hobo-hello, hobo-give-burger, hobo-get-a-job, hobo-be-a-dick, hobo-sorry, and hobo-goodbye are chat nodes.

Instead of giving or showing the business cards to the hobo:

say "The hobo looks over the business card. 'Thanks,' he says. 'I can't afford to feed myself, but if I'm ever in the market for some private investigating, you'll be the first to know.'";

Instead of talking to the hobo:

say "The hobo looks up at you with big puppy-dog eyes. 'I'm so hungry,' he says. 'Please help me.'";

say "'Oh. Well, don't worry about it. I'm sure some wealthy philanthropist will pass through this railyard sooner or later.' Something in the tone of his voice suggests that he may not be entirely sincere. (As a private investigator, you're trained to pick up on these subtle nuances.)" instead;
