Volume 4 - Ideas

Book 1 - Big Ideas

An idea is a kind of thing.

Ideas are always scenery.

Instead of examining an idea, say "If you want to examine your ideas, try pondering them."

A memory, a fact, and speculation are kinds of ideas.

Speculation can be Hypothesis or Theory. Speculation is usually Hypothesis. Understand the Hypothesis property as describing speculation.

The ponderance of the player is "[one of]Cogito ergo sum.[or]You am what you am.[or]All you are is dust in the wind.[or]What is mind? No matter. What is matter? Never mind.[at random]"

Love is a subject. The ponderance of love is "[one of]What is love? Baby don't hurt me. Don't hurt me no more.[or]Love is a many splendored thing.[or]Love lifts us up where we belong.[or]All you need is love.[or]Love hurts, love scars. Love wounds and mars.[at random]"

Life is a subject. The ponderance of life is "[one of]Life? Don't talk to me about life.[or]Life sucks, and then you die.[or]Life's a piece of shit, when you look at it.[or]The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.[at random]"

Death is a subject. The ponderance of death is "[one of]Ask not for whom the bell tolls.[or]Life sucks, and then you die.[or]When God closes a door, he opens a window and kills you.[or]Death is your gift.[at random]"

Pondering the player is philosophy. Pondering love is philosophy. Pondering life is philosophy. Pondering death is philosophy.

After philosophy:

record "philosophy" as achieved;

continue the action;

There is a subject called alphabet soup. The ponderance of alphabet soup is "You have a hazy recollection of something important written on a scrap of paper, but the memory isn’t clear enough to read what it says. It's just a swirl of letters floating around in memory broth. You suspect you must have kept the scrap around somewhere, hidden away from prying eyes."

After noting the note:

shatter alphabet soup;

continue the action.
